Roof scaffolding in Newport and South Wales

A full re-roof, slipped tiles, a ridge that’s come loose or new flashing. Your roofer needs somewhere to stand and work at the eaves, and the scaffold has to be up before they start. Tell Paul what’s happening and get a free quote.

For re-roofs, roof repairs and the roofers doing them

Built for the roofer, not just the wall

A roof job needs a working platform at the eaves, where the roofer can stand, stack tiles and get materials up. Tell us whether it’s a full strip or a repair to one slope, and which sides of the house the work is on.

If you’ve got your roofer’s number, pass it on. They’ll know what access they want, and it’s easier to agree it with them before anything goes up.

A new roof, in a customer’s words

jamie wright had his new roof fitted off a Gane Access scaffold. In his Google review he wrote: “the build was perfect for the builders to fit my new roof. Paul always kept in contact with me and answered all my questions.”

If the roof will be open for a while

A full strip leaves the house open to the weather. A temporary roof goes up over the scaffold and keeps the rain off while the work goes on. Whether you need one depends on how long the roof will be open and what’s underneath, so talk it through with your roofer, and with us when we quote.

Houses that open onto the pavement

If the front of the house is on the pavement, the scaffold will stand on the highway. Section 169 of the Highways Act 1980 says scaffolding put up on or over a highway needs a written licence from the highway authority, which is usually the council.

Anything else, call and ask Paul.

Do you need scaffolding for roof repairs?

It depends on the repair and how high the roof is. Your roofer will tell you what access they need. If they want a scaffold, send us the details and we’ll quote for it.

Do roofers have their own scaffolding?

Some roofers sort their own access and some leave it to a scaffolding firm. Ask yours. If they need a scaffold putting up, we can talk to them directly so it’s built the way they want to work.

How long does scaffolding stay up for a new roof?

As long as the roof takes. Agree the dates with your roofer, tell us, and ring as soon as they’ve finished. Elliott Craig wrote in his review that when he told us the job was done, “they stripped it the next day.”

How much is scaffolding for a roof?

It depends on the size of the house, how many sides need scaffolding, the height, and how long it’s up. Send the details for a free quote.
