Scaffolding for rendering and painting in Newport and South Wales

Rendering a house, re-rendering where the old render has blown, or painting the outside. The whole wall has to be reachable, top to bottom, so the scaffold needs to cover every face being done. Tell Paul which walls and get a free quote.

Scaffolding up the front of a brick block of flats

Which walls, and how much of them

Render and paint go on a whole wall at a time, so tell us which elevations are being done: the front, the back, a gable end, or all the way round.

Bay windows, porches, lean-tos and conservatories all change the shape of the scaffold. Mention them when you ring, and send photos if you can.

Room to work at the wall

Your renderer or painter has to be able to get right up to the wall. Tell us who’s doing the work and pass on their number, so how the scaffold sits against the house is agreed with them before anything goes up.

Weather moves the dates

Rendering and painting both depend on the weather, so these jobs can run on longer than planned. Give us rough dates to start with, and keep us posted if they slip.

If the scaffold is on the pavement, remember the council’s licence runs for a set period. A job that overruns may need the licence extending as well.

Questions, answered.

Anything else, call and ask Paul.

Do you need scaffolding for rendering?

Ask your renderer what access they want. Rendering covers a whole wall at a time, so they need to reach all of it. If that means a scaffold, send us the address and which walls, and we’ll quote.

Do I need scaffolding to paint a house?

It depends on the height of the house and how much of it is being painted. Your painter will say what they need. If it’s a scaffold, tell us which walls and roughly when.

What if the work takes longer because of the weather?

Tell us as soon as the dates move. If the scaffold is on the pavement, the council licence may need extending too.

Can the scaffold go round a bay window or a porch?

Tell us about them when you ring and send a photo if you can. They all go into planning where the scaffold sits.

Got a job coming up?

Tell Paul what the work is, where it is and when it starts. You’ll get a free quote.
