Scaffolding on a Newport pavement
Plenty of Newport’s terraces open straight onto the pavement. Newport City Council says you must get a licence before scaffolding goes up on or over a public highway, and not to start putting it up until the licence arrives.
The council’s page says the licence should be issued within five working days, and that it runs for a set period, after which the scaffold has to come down or the licence has to be extended. Build that into your dates.
When the job’s finished
Tell us when your trades are done. In his Google review, Elliott Craig wrote: “the day we finished with the scaffold and I told them, they stripped it the next day.”
