About 14 miles north west of our Newport yard

Around the town
The town centre, Cwmtillery up the side valley to the north, Six Bells and Aberbeeg down the valley to the south, Llanhilleth and Brynithel close by, and Blaina further up the Ebbw Fach.
Abertillery’s terraces are stacked up the sides of the valley, and a lot of them front straight onto steep pavements. If the street is steep or narrow, or the back is only reachable by a lane, tell us when you ring.
Blaenau Gwent and the licence
Abertillery is in Blaenau Gwent, the same council as Ebbw Vale. We searched Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council’s website for its scaffolding licence rules and couldn’t find a page, so we’re only giving you the law here.
Section 169 of the Highways Act 1980 says scaffolding put up on or over a highway needs a written licence from the highway authority, which is usually the council. If the scaffold has to stand on or over the pavement, ask us about the licence when we quote.
