Chimney scaffolding in Newport and South Wales

Repointing a stack, a new pot or cowl, fresh flashing, or taking a chimney down. The work is right at the top of the roof, so the scaffold has to get your builder or roofer up to the stack, not just to the gutter. Tell Paul about the chimney and get a free quote.

Where the chimney sits matters

A stack on the front or back wall is reached differently to one in the middle of the ridge, or one on the party wall with next door. Tell us where it sits, how many storeys the house is, and what the work is.

A photo of the roof from the street helps a lot, and so does one from the back if the chimney is there.

Shared stacks and next door

Plenty of terraces and semis share a chimney stack with the house next door. If yours does, talk to your neighbour before the work starts, especially if the scaffold or the work needs to reach over their side of the roof.

Short jobs still need planning

Chimney work is often quick once the scaffold is up. Agree the dates with whoever’s doing it and tell us, so the scaffold is there when they arrive and comes down when they’ve finished.

We can’t promise every date, so ring as early as you can. When Katherine Watkins needed hers in a hurry, she wrote in her Google review that Paul and his team “fitted it around their busy schedule.”

On the pavement?

Terraced houses often have their chimney at the front, over the pavement. If the scaffold stands on or over the pavement, the council has to licence it before it goes up.

Do you need scaffolding to repair a chimney?

Your roofer or builder will tell you what access they need for the job. If it’s a scaffold, send us the address and what the work is and we’ll quote.

How much is chimney scaffolding?

It depends on the height of the house, where the stack sits and how long the scaffold is needed. Call or send the details for a free quote.

Can you scaffold a chimney on a terraced house?

Tell us the address and where the chimney sits, and send a photo from the street if you can. We’ll quote it and tell you what we’d need.

Do I need scaffolding for chimney removal?

Ask whoever is taking it down what access they want. Taking a stack down means working at the very top of the roof, so tell us that’s the job when you ring.
