Around Ystrad Mynach
From the centre and the streets around the station out to Penallta, Tredomen and Hengoed, Maesycwmmer by the viaduct, and Llanbradach down the valley towards Caerphilly.
Plenty of the older streets are long terraces cut into the valley side. If the street is steep, or the only way round the back is a lane, tell us when you ring.
Caerphilly’s licence rules
Caerphilly County Borough Council has its offices at Penallta House in Tredomen, and it’s the council that licenses scaffolding here. It says any scaffolding onto or over the highway needs its licence, and that it’s the scaffolding company’s job, not the customer’s, to make sure the licence has been applied for and granted.
Its conditions include 2.1m of headroom with full overhead cover, 1.2m of footway kept clear for people walking past, and danger lights in the dark.
