Scaffolding in Caerphilly

Around the town

From the streets around the castle and the town centre out to Lansbury Park, Penyrheol, Energlyn and Trecenydd, plus Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen on the Newport side and Llanbradach to the north.

Plenty of the older streets are terraces with nothing between the front door and the pavement. Tell us what’s out the front when you ring.

Caerphilly’s licence rules

Caerphilly County Borough Council says any scaffolding that encroaches onto or over the highway needs its licence, and that it isn’t the customer’s job to apply: it’s up to the scaffolding company to make sure the licence has been applied for and granted.

Its conditions include 2.1m of headroom and 1.2m of footway kept clear for people walking past, lights on the scaffold after dark, and the scaffold coming down as soon as the work is finished.
