Scaffolding in Barry

Around the town

Holton Road and High Street in the middle, Barry Island and the docks to the south, Cadoxton, Gibbonsdown and Colcot further out, and the newer flats and houses on the Waterfront.

Barry is right on the coast. If the scaffold needs sheeting, or a roof will be open for a while, say so when you ring.

The Vale of Glamorgan’s licence

Barry is in the Vale of Glamorgan. The council’s page says a licence application should go in at least one working day before the scaffold is due to go up, and that it will give its decision by phone or email within one working day, though it can sometimes take longer.

It also says it’s the scaffolding contractor’s responsibility, not the home or business owner’s, to make sure the licence has been granted first, and that each licence covers one address only.
